چکیده

Colloid cysts are benign intracranial lesions, that account only 0.2-2% of intracranial lesions, mostly localized in the roof of the third ventricle. Although the cysts are histological benign, they sustain significant neurological presentation or death due to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) obstruction and acute hydrocephalus. Cavum septi pellucidi, another pathology which can cause similar results, may be in a strategic position closer to the foramen monro. Colloid cysts outside the third ventricle are extremely rare. A colloid cyst in septum pellicidum location using panthpaque ventriculogram was first reported by Ciric. Although microsurgical resection with the use of either a transcallosal or transcortical-transventricular approach has been accepted, in recent years neuroendoscopic approaches are preferred for the treatment of these locations. This is a report of colloid cyst in cavum septi pellucidi which was successfully removed using endoscope.

Case Report Sellar Cysticercosis and Septum Pellucidum Cyst : a Case Report and Review of the Literature

Sellar cysticercosis is a rare form of neurocysticercosis. A septum pellucidum cysts is a rare, often asymptomatic cystic structure between the lateral ventricles. We report here a male patient with sellar cysticercosis and septum pellucidum cysts who was successfully treated by neuroendoscopic resection. The patient was a 28-year-old male who presented with intermittent headaches for 5 years. ...

Prenatal Diagnosis of Down Syndrome Associated with Right Aortic Arch and Dilated Septum Cavi Pellucidi

A 30-year-old woman with a normal first trimester Down syndrome screening attended our ultrasound unit for a 20-week scan. The most remarkable anomalies were the presence of a right aortic arch along with a dilated cavum septi pellucidi. In addition, the scan showed an atrioventricular canal and bilateral choroid plexus cysts. Fetal karyotype showed the existence of trisomy 21. A novel associat...

Endoscopic Treatment of Colloid Cysts of Third Ventricle: Study of Three Cases

Introduction: Colloid cyst of the third ventricle is a rare intracranial benign tumor. Traditionally, treatment is carried out by transcallosal or transcortical transventricular approach. Currently, the endoscopic treatment of these lesions is increasingly used. We reported our preliminary experience about three cases of colloid cysts treated by neuroendoscopy. Methods and Patients: We condu...

Assessment of corpus callosum biometric measurements at 18 to 32 weeks' gestation by 3-dimensional sonography.

OBJECTIVES The purposes of this study were to construct reference limits for corpus callosum dimensions measured on images reconstructed from 3-dimensional (3D) sonography and to evaluate the reproducibility of these measurements. METHODS Three-dimensional sonographic volumes were acquired transabdominally from an axial view of the head in 361 fetuses cross-sectionally studied at 18 to 32 wee...
